Head of Development
Michael Margolis eats, sleeps, and breathes story telling. From the moment he saw his first television show he knew he wanted to make people laugh, make them think, and make them feel. Since then, he has devoted his boundless drive and unrelenting curiosity to learning every aspect of the film and TV industry. After graduating with a BA in English from the University of Winnipeg, and completing a post baccalaureate diploma in Communications at Simon Fraser University, Michael jumped head first into making a controversial documentary about the first ever phase 3 human trial vaccine for AIDS. Commissioned by CBC Rough Cuts, Human Trials: Testing the AIDS Vaccine garnered festival play around the world.
On the strength of that project Michael launched himself into directing and editing full time making his mark in the business with his fresh and intimate storytelling. Selected credits include: Border Security (NATGEO), Million Dollar Neighborhood (OWN), The Shopping Bags (W), Opening Soon: By Design (HGTV), Urban Suburban (HGTV), The Last 10 Pounds Boot Camp (SLICE), Bulging Brides (SLICE), Superstar Chef Challenge (FOOD), The Grocery Bags (W), Eat Street (FOOD), The Audience Canada (W), Canadian Idol (CTV) and Bachelor Canada (CITY).
Michael now brings his desire for great story telling and creative persistence to the Good Human Development team, working on its busy development slate.
